Kat believes that identifying and building relationships with parts of ourselves is a valuable source of awareness. She believes that we all deserve to get to know ourselves in a skillful way that empowers and serves us throughout all of life’s many transitions.
Kat specializes in working with teens, family systems, and adults who struggle with anxiety, depression, anger, a trauma history, over-functioning, and perfectionism. She provides a space where clients can show up as themselves, unapologetically. Passionate, energetic, and compassionate, Kat supports and guides her clients to recognize the power they hold in their lives. She sees behaviors through a relational lens and supports you throughout your journey in establishing relationships that better benefit you, most importantly, on your own terms.
When not working with clients, Kat enjoys spending time with her husband, her dogs and cat, reading, doing yoga, cycling, cooking, and spending time in nature.

ACCELERATED RESOLUTION THERAPY PRACTITIONER
I go by Angela, Angie, and even María. I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in May of 2023. I will continue to pursue my studies with the desire of becoming a psychotherapist one day. I aspire to work with children and young adults and be a guide for their healing and wellness journeys. As I continue to learn and grow personally and professionally, I want to become more familiar with various therapy modalities, some of those being mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, emotion-focused therapy, and inner child work.
I am excited to be walking alongside Golden Matters Counseling in helping the practice with further connecting to their audience, continuing to develop and nurture referral sources, and with social media creation and management in order to make sure that we are always reachable, as this is one of GMC’s values.
When not working, I love to read personal shares and newsletters about mental health-related stories. In addition, I enjoy practicing yoga and recharging by spending time alone in my own presence. For me, this usually happens by simply listening to music while going out for a drive or by finding a new coffee shop and enjoying an iced matcha latte.
